Wellbeing

At Burnside Primary School, the physical and mental health and wellbeing of our children is our absolute priority. We strive to fulfill our school motto that "A Burnside Child is a Happy Child" and take a number of steps to support this.

Our whole school community understands that we all must be active participants in ensuring positive mental health. We recognise the inextricable links between good physical health, lifestyle choices and positive mental health and provide children with an education which supports them in making choices which improve these areas simultaneouslyPositive mental health and wellbeing is the basis for a happy and successful life at school. Wellbeing and resilience are threads are interwoven through school life in order to ensure that our curriculum promotes the development of positive mental health for of all of our pupils. Happy children learn more and it is our goal to ensure that our children are given all of the tools they need to be the best they can possibly be.
