Additional Support

Listening Matters

There are two members of staff in school trained to deliver the Listening Matters Programme. Children are identified by staff or their grown-ups at home to participate in the programme.

Nurturing Our Wellbeing Project

Our Year 5 children will be taking part in the NOW project this academic year. This will be facilitated by school staff who have received training to deliver the project.

School Counsellor

Our School Counsellor is organised through Angela Hood Counselling Service and she visits our school every Friday. She works with children for blocks of around six weeks or as long as is appropriate.

Children are identified to participate by their parent/carer, a member of staff in school or sometimes the children themselves.

Starving the Gremlin Books

We value the role the Starving the Gremlin CBT books can play in changing thought patterns for our children and use these on a 1:1 basis to support children who may need support in understanding and showing their emotions.

Decider Sessions

Our Year 4 children will be participating in "Decider" sessions this academic year which will be facilitated by Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners.

Wellbeing Assistant

Our children are fortunate to be supported by a Wellbeing Assistant who is present in school every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. She spends her time working on Wellbeing Projects with small groups of children and promoting positive mental health and wellbeing during unstructured times of day such as over lunch time.
